Parent and Student Focus Groups

Are you a parent who has a child or youth with an IEP? We want to hear about your experiences! Whatis working well and what could be done to improve how children and youth receiving special education are educated in Maryland public schools?

The State of Maryland is conducting a study to learn more about special education and the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process in your school.

If your child or youth, Kindergarten to age 21, receives special education in a Maryland public school, please register to participate in a focus group near you. Use the link below to register.

Focus groups will be held 6:30-8:00 PM on June 5 at the following location:

Dorchester Career & Technology Center
2465 Cambridge Beltway
Cambridge, MD 21613

We also want to hear from students who receive special education, aged 10-21. Please talk with your child about participating. Students must be able to understand and respond to basic questions. One student per family. Registration is required. Space is limited. Light refreshments and a $10 gift card will be offered. Interpreters will be provided (with advance notice). Child care will not be provided.
