Students in Advanced Placement Biology, Advanced Placement Environmental Science and PLTW Biomedical Innovations courses at Easton High School presented their research projects at the annual Biomed and AP Sciences Symposium on Wednesday May 22 in the Easton High cafeteria.

After conducting research in a scientific area of interest, students have invited their mentors, parents and guardians, school administrators and the general public to an evening event that includes a poster session along with formal electronic presentations.

Research topics range from the medical field to the environment, including titles such as The Effects on Sugary Drinks on Dental Health;  Raising Awareness on Possible Effects of Concussions on Teen Athletes; How Sleep Deprivation Affects Teens; Effects of Phone and Technology Use on Teen's Brain Development and Vision; The Use of Technology in Forensics; and The Importance of Bees to the Environment and Medicine.

Easton High Science teachers Cheryl Overington, Lauren Rose and Julie Harp organized the Science Symposium to celebrate the accomplishments of students in the area of scientific research, and to recognize the importance of scientists and health care experts as mentors, and as an integral part of the TCPS Science and Career and Technology Education programs.
