Offering Support
"Support" can be defined many different ways. One definition that we hope best describes what we offer at the Family Support & Resource Center is "...to provide active help and/or encouragement, to provide assistance or comfort to someone..."
There are many different ways to offer support:
1-a one on one meeting to discuss any questions or concerns you may have about your child's Individualized Education Program (IEP)
2-attending an IEP meeting with you at your child's school
3-a referral to a person, resource or agency that turns out to be the next best step for a particular situation
4-borrowing a book or DVD that speaks directly to a specific disability or issue
There are many books and DVDs that may be checked out. Come to the center or contact Stacy Behrens if there is a book and/or DVD you would like to check out. There is no time limit on how long you may borrow the materials, but please return them when you are done so that others may take advantage of the information.
Materials may be returned directly to the center or to any school office. Please indicate that it should be returned to Stacy Behrens, Parent Coordinator in the interschool mail.
