This Spring, the Class of 2022 will be the 150th graduating class from St. Michaels High School. Each week we will be posting a Throwback Thursday Picture courtesy of the St Michaels High School Alumni Association.

This week‘s picture features the St. Michaels High School Mantle. This special cloak has been passed down from each graduating class since the early 1900s. Each year the Junior Class President accepts it from the Senior Class at Graduation. The Junior that accepts the Mantle wears it when they graduate and then they pass it down to the next class. In 1999, the mantle became so large/heavy that the Alumni Association had a new mantle made. The original mantle is on display in the school auditorium lobby. On the 100th anniversary of the Mantle (2015), a showcase was built dedicated to Mrs. Peggy Mundt, a long-time teacher at SMHS. The showcase was built by Robbie Dornton and Jacob VanSchaik (2015 graduates and carpentry students).

This holiday season, we are once again thankful to be a part of such a caring, generous community. Debbie Trumbull (and her family) spearheaded our entire “Christmas Gifts for Families in Need” Program. They even went out and solicited business support from Limoncello and Ava’s/Theo’s/Hammy’s. In total, 13 families received gifts for Christmas thanks to the generosity and efforts of the Trumbull Family. We know that our families are so appreciative and we want to say a big THANK YOU to the Trumbulls, Limoncello, and Ava’s/Theo’s/Hammy’s. 🎁 ... See MoreSee Less

This Spring, the Class of 2022 will be the 150th graduating class from St. Michaels High School. Each week we will be posting a Throwback Thursday Picture courtesy of the St Michaels High School Alumni Association.

This week‘s picture features photos of the St. Michaels High School athletic stadium being dedicated as Saints Field in 1981. Names added to this plaque over the years are: Coach JJ Smith, Coach Denver Leach, and Mr. Bob Hall. These men were involved heavily with athletics during their time at St. Michaels.

When the YMCA was built, this plaque was taken inside the school for safe keeping. The alumni association hopes to rebuild the pedestal that held this plaque at some point soon.
