The Blueprint for Maryland’s Future legislation aspires to expand and elevate educational opportunities for all students. There are many initiatives in the Blueprint that will provide additional opportunities for students, including a provision that students have access to dual enrollment at no cost. The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) has recently advised local school systems that this opportunity is to be implemented in the 2022-2023 school year, a year earlier than anticipated. This means that Talbot County Public Schools will be paying tuition costs for TCPS students who are taking dual enrollment classes at Maryland Institutions of Higher Education beginning this school year.
