Dear TCPS Families,
Happy first day of Spring!
Since learning of the new CDC guidelines for social distancing in schools, and after speaking with Dr. Maguire and the Board of Education, our Administrative Team has been reviewing our recovery plan and our hybrid model to ensure a smooth transition to more in-person instruction.
Effective Monday, April 12, all current elementary in-person students (Pre-K through grade 5) will attend school four full days per week. Wednesdays will remain both asynchronous and synchronous learning pending individual school schedules.
As the CDC has not fully lifted the 6 ft. distancing for secondary schools, students in grades 6-12 currently attending school in-person will continue with their concurrent AA/BB day synchronous model four days per week, and Wednesdays will remain asynchronous. All schools will work to maintain 6 foot distancing in common areas and among staff.
We are revising transportation routes so that we can let families know of any changes to pick up and drop off times. In addition, we will be posting the capacity and rider numbers per bus by school. Outdoor activities must still comply with the Governor’s orders, but we will continue to pivot when we can and when it’s safe to do so.
