UPCOMING YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TRAINING

Youth Mental Health First Aid USA is an eight-hour public education program that introduces participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health programs in adolescents, builds understanding of the importance of early intervention, and teaches individuals how to help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge.  The program uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to assess a mental health crisis; select interventions and provide initial help; and connect young people to professional, peer, social, and self-help care. We will be hosting the following upcoming Youth Mental Health First Aid trainings:

  • 3/4/2022 from 8:00-4:00 at EES
  • 3/4/2022 from 8:30-3:00 at SMMHS
  • 3/4/2022 from 8:00-4:00 VIRTUAL
  • 3/11/2022 from 8:00-4:00 VIRTUAL
  • 4/1/2022 from 8:00-4:00 VIRTUAL

Attached is an informational flier on YMHFA. All interested participants should send their name, email address, and preferred date/location from the above list to alexandra.ketterman@talbotschools.org at least 72 hours before the designated training. Thanks so much!
