Dual Enrollment Program with Chesapeake College
Dual Enrollment is a program that allows high school students to earn college credit while still in high school. Talbot County Public Schools provides this opportunity to eligible students at no cost to the student or student’s family, in partnership with Chesapeake College. Students can select from a list of eligible courses that can be used as dual credit to meet high school graduation requirements, or as elective credit (depending on the course). Students may choose from classes offered at the high schools or at any Chesapeake College campus. Course offerings at the high schools may vary based on instructor availability.
Courses taken at Chesapeake College may meet outside of school operating hours. Eligible students should meet with their high school counselor to determine coursework that would align to academic goals. Grades earned in dual enrollment courses will be recorded on a student’s high school transcript and will be used to calculate the student’s high school GPA and class rank.
Procedures and Eligibility
Students who register for dual enrollment at Chesapeake College through the TCPS outlined process are eligible to earn college credit on a Chesapeake College transcript as well as high school course/elective credit on a TCPS high school transcript.
